Guests who want to enjoy a Disney vacation while saving money on accommodations should consider staying at an Anaheim Good Neighbor hotel close to Disneyland.

Disneyland Resort is the home to three official hotels: Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and the original Disneyland hotel. While these on-site accommodations are close to the parks and filled with magical Disney theming, they are not the only attractive options. Disneyland Good Neighbor hotels, near Disneyland and the Downtown Disney District, are well-maintained and often less expensive than their Disneyland resort counterparts.

What Determines a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel?

Disneyland Resort works with Anaheim-area accommodations to determine its Good Neighbor Hotels. Hotels are evaluated in several categories before they may receive the Good Neighbor Designation. Evaluation categories include the number and quality of amenities, guest service, guest satisfaction, décor, price and location (although Disneyland does not require accommodations to be within walking distance).

Once receiving the designation, these accommodations are eligible to participate in Disneyland promotions and offer guests perks and benefits that guests associate with being on-site, such as Magic Morning admission or preferred seating. Beyond participating in Disneyland travel deals or benefits, there is no official relationship with the Walt Disney Company. Hotel guests should not expect character breakfast or Disney theming.

There are currently 42 properties, in 4 hotel levels, that qualify as Disneyland Good Neighbor hotels. The categories identify different types of accommodation and price levels. Many Good Neighbor Hotels are familiar names, like Embassy Suites, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson, and Ramada. The properties themselves vary somewhat in amenities, but Disneyland Resort offers an easily accessible comparison chart that links to hotel overviews.

One of our favorite Disneyland hotels is Hilton Anaheim. They’re so close to Disneyland and have lots of great amenities. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
