Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom hosts the annual Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP), which takes place on select evenings in September and October. MNSSHP is a hard-ticket event, meaning it requires a separate ticket and not included with regular theme-park admission. On MNSSHP nights, the park closes early for the party and remains open only to ticket holders
The family-friendly MNSSHP focuses on fun over frights. The evenings include a variety of special parades and shows, trick-or-treat opportunities around the Magic Kingdom, and dance parties in addition to most of the park’s regular rides and attractions being open.
Guests of all ages – especially children – are invited to wear Halloween costumes. MNSSHP is the only opportunity for the entire family to dress up in costumes at the Disney park – adults are normally prevented from wearing costumes in the park, so as to not confuse children. The event also includes trick-or-treat opportunities.
MNSSHP Events at the Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom Trick-or-Treat. Guests are provided with trick-or-treat bags that can be filled at candy stations throughout the theme park. Locations are marked on a special MNSSHP map. There is no limit to how many times a guest can return to a candy station.
Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. Both beloved Disney characters, dressed in costume, and Disney villains populate the parade. Highlights include the Headless Horseman leading the parade and special Halloween floats, including one of the Haunted Mansion. The parade takes place twice nightly, at 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Happy HalloWishes Fireworks. Disney offers a themed fireworks show, based on the Haunted Mansion and featuring Halloween-themed music from Disney movies, that takes place at 9:30 p.m.
Halloween Dance Parties. Disney guests can get their groove on with characters as two dance party locations. The Tomorrowland party is held at the Stitch Stage. Woody's Happy Harvest Roundup takes place at the Diamong Horseshoe Review in Liberty Square.
Disney's Villains Mix & Mingle. In this production, villains are the stars. Captain Hook, Cruella DeVille, Malificient, Jafar, and the Wicked Queen from Snow White are just some of the villains appearing. The characters pose for pictures after each of the 7:45, 9:00, 10;05 and 11:15 p.m. shows.
Character Appearances. Special appearances take place at various locations from 7 until 11:30 p.m. for Disney character meet & greet opportunities.
