Walt Disney World Resort is running a special offer on theme-park vacation packages for family travel for select dates in 2011. Called “Kids Stay and Play Free,” this Disney package offers free hotel stays and theme-park admission for children.
2011 “Kids Stay and Play Free” Walt Disney World Vacation Package
“Kids Stay and Play Free” focuses on families with children between 3 and 9 years of age. Adult Disney guests must book a non-discounted Magic Your Way vacation package, which includes staying at an official Disney Resort hotel and purchasing theme-park tickets to Walt Disney World’s major theme parks (i.e. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom).
With this promotion, children stay free in the same hotel room as parents (or adult guardians) and will receive free Disney theme-park Base tickets for the same number of days as those purchased by the adult guests under the same reservation. Base Tickets, also known as non-Park Hopper Tickets, admit guests into one park per day.
Note: Children under the age of 3 years do not require Disney theme-park admission, nor are they charged for staying in Disney Resort hotel rooms.
Disney’s “Kids Stay and Play Free” is good for travel between February and October 2011, excluding blackout periods. This special offer, if available, is valid for most nights during the following periods:
- Feb. 17 – April 16, 2011
- April 28 – June 14, 2011
- August 14 – Oct. 1, 2011
In order to be eligible for this family travel offer, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort between Feb. 17 and April 16, 2011 need to book by Feb. 13. For stays between April and October, guests need to book by March 27, 2011.
Restrictions on Walt Disney World Vacation Packages
Advance reservations are required, as there are limited number of rooms are available for Disney discounts and promotions. Disney special offers do not permit “double dipping,” so no group rates or other discounts apply.
In order to be eligible for “Kids Stay and Play Free,” adult guests must book a minimum of a 3-night room-and-ticket package at select Disney Resort hotels. Children must stay in the same room as their parents or the adult guests named as part of the vacation package. There is a maximum of four guests per Disney Resort hotel room, and “Kids Stay and Play Free” excludes suites, campsites and three-bedroom villas.
Disney Magic Your Way theme-park tickets must be used within 14 days of first use. Children’s tickets will be the same length as those purchased by the adult guests. Tickets may be upgraded for Park Hopper and/or Water Park Fun & More options for additional fees.
As with other Walt Disney World vacation packages, guests may choose to add other options such as the Disney Dining Plan or special tours or experiences. Additional fees apply.
Disney’s “Kids Stay and Play Free” – A Good Family Travel Deal?
Guests thinking about booking Disney’s 2011 “Kids Stay and Play Free” promotion should be aware that the “stay free” element of this special offer reflects Disney’s regular hotel room policy. Kids ages 17 years and younger are not charged to stay in the same room as their parents or adult guests; Disney’s emphasis on the free hotel stays suggests a special benefit, then, that is available for all rooms, at all times..
Therefore, the true savings in Disney’s “Kids Stay and Play Free” vacation package is in the free theme-park tickets.
